Characters

Isabel- "Her eyes were brown. So was her hair which was filthy and hung in dark, limp tangles past her sharp chin. Her skin was pale, with regular but plain features-wide forehead, flat cheekbones, long thin nose. She was still wearing the clothes the prince had given her, and beneath them her body was lean and wiry. She stared at her reflection, certain that she had never seen it before."
Isabel is curious, willing, independent, and beautiful.
Isabel's role in the story is to help and find out who the real king is and who deserves the throne. To do that though she must go on a big adventure.

Isabel changes in the story because at first she can't really use or control her shifting powers. And she has to believe in her heart if Kaer is the real king. Or if he is worthy and considerate to even handle the job. You will see in the end, what happens.

Rokan-“ She knew he was a price as soon as she saw him. Not because he was dressed like one; his black riding habit and green cape, while dramatic, could have belonged to any nobleman. His face was chiseled and sharp-jawed, but a bit to drawn to be regal. Nor was it hi bearing. He was disheveled and tired, and right before he saw her he uttered a curse that would have fit the mouth of the coarsest peasant.”
Rokan is Impulsive, Stubborn,Opinionated , and Secretive.
Rokan's role in Mistwood is the one who is trying to keep his temper at all time and keep his secret from Isabel.
How Rokan changes through out the book is that he is truthful to Isabel about his past.

Kaer-If her stare was making him nervous, he didn't show it. He stood, and she resist the urge to shift herself taller. "You have been lead by impostors, Shifter. I am the rightful king of Samorna, and I am here."
Some words that describe Kaer are greedy, he wants revenge and power, secretive.
Kaer's role in the book is to become the king and kill the impostor that stole his throne.
He doesn't really change in the story because something bad happens to him.

Clarisse-"Then Clarisse blinked and her eyebrows slanted downward over suddenly hard green eyes."  She is sly, tricky, smart, deceptive, and snooty. Her role in the story was to deceive Kaer and to give Isabel a hard time. She changed throughout the story from being a little carefree to being careful and concealed.
